Search Engine Marketing

Paid search is the easiest place to waste money and the fastest place to make it. We run accounts to profit, in your own ad account, with nothing hidden.

What is search engine marketing and when is it the right channel?

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is paid advertising on search engines, primarily Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising, where you bid to appear for specific queries and pay per click. It is the right channel when there is existing demand you can capture, meaning people are already searching for what you sell. When demand does not yet exist, display, video and social usually come first.

What is included

What you actually get

Account structure and rebuild

Most accounts we inherit are fighting themselves. We rebuild campaign structure, match types, negatives and bidding around how you actually make money.

Google and Microsoft Ads

Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen and remarketing managed together rather than as isolated campaigns.

Conversion tracking that is trustworthy

Server-side and enhanced conversions, offline conversion imports, call tracking and value-based bidding built on real revenue where possible.

Landing pages

We build and test the page, not just the ad. Sending qualified clicks to a weak page is the most common cause of a failing account.

Feed and shopping management

Product feed optimisation, merchant centre health, custom labels and campaign priority structure for retail and e-commerce.

Transparent reporting

You own the account. You can see every keyword, every cost and every conversion at any time, not just what a report chooses to show.

Our process

How we run it

  1. Account audit

Wasted spend, structure problems, tracking gaps and query mismatch documented line by line. You get the audit regardless of what you decide.

  2. Rebuild and instrument

Tracking gets fixed first. Then structure, negatives, bidding strategy and creative are rebuilt around profitable intent.

  3. Launch and stabilise

Staged launch with tight budget control through the learning period, then bid strategy handover once the data supports it.

  4. Scale profitably

Expansion into new query space, geographies and formats only once the core is producing at target efficiency.

FAQ

Questions about paid search

The things clients ask before they sign, answered plainly.

How much should I spend on Google Ads?

Start from the maths, not a benchmark. Take your average order value, close rate and target cost per acquisition, and work backwards to a cost per click you can afford. In most local service categories that lands between $1,500 and $10,000 per month in media. If the numbers do not work at any realistic click cost, we will say so rather than sell you a campaign.

What do you charge to manage paid search?

Management is typically 12 to 18% of media spend, with a monthly minimum, or a flat retainer for smaller accounts. It is quoted separately from media so you always know what you are paying for management versus what is reaching the auction.

Who owns the Google Ads account?

You do. We work inside your account under manager access. If we part ways, you keep every campaign, keyword, conversion action and historical data point. Agencies that run your ads inside their own account are holding your history hostage.

Is Performance Max worth running?

Often yes, but only with proper guardrails: brand exclusions, audience signals, clean conversion values and asset group discipline. Run without those, it tends to harvest conversions you would have got anyway and report them as new. We test it against a controlled search campaign before committing budget.

How quickly will I see results from paid search?

Traffic is immediate. Reliable data takes 2 to 4 weeks, and smart bidding usually needs 30 days and around 30 conversions to stabilise. We resist making major changes inside the first fortnight because it resets the learning.

Do you handle Microsoft and Bing Ads too?

Yes, and it is frequently overlooked. Microsoft Advertising often delivers 20 to 40% lower cost per click in B2B and older-demographic categories. We are a Microsoft Advertising Select partner and import and adapt campaigns rather than just mirroring them.
